Welcome back to STC, everyone!
If you missed out on the STC Houston program season kick-off meeting in September, you missed a lot! STC Associate Fellow Rhyne Armstrong gave a very entertaining and informative talk on “How Not to Suck at Presenting.”
Armstrong gave great examples of ways to make your presentations seize the audience’s attention and keep it. We also had a great question and answer session at the end with Armstrong, who is Director of Documentation for RouteMatch Software in Georgia and a noted speaker at communications conferences, such as the STC Summit and LavaCon.
But, if you missed it, never fear! Your STC Administrative Council has so much more in store for your program year!
We’re going strictly social for October, with a great trivia and Tex-Mex night on Tuesday, October 14. You can learn more about this fun event here.
November is a “don’t miss” kind of month when Bernard Aschwanden, STC Vice President, gives us his “Tech Comm Cheatsheat.” Aschwanden will share and show us tips and tricks for using everyday tools to streamline and help you rock your job with productivity! Join us Tuesday, November 9th for Aschwanden and STC networking! Check back for more details on the program here.
The Administrative Council is also mulling over some holiday ideas for December. In addition, we’ve got topics coming in 2015 that range from time management to global technical communication teams, not to mention a program meeting by STC Houston member/alum and favorite, Linda Oestreich!
As you can see, STC Houston is the place to be! So, don’t miss out this season. We can’t wait to see you soon!
Oh, and if you haven’t yet, be sure to fill out our demographic survey so your council can plan the programs and events that you want to see!
Keep on communicating, Houston!
