The President acts as the leader of the chapter and has the following goals:

  • To represent and lead the chapter
  • To act as the administrator of the chapter
  • To work with the other members of the Administrative Council to complete activities and projects

Specific Responsibilities

  • Plan meetings and events 
  • Facilitate meetings using Zoom
  • Handle finances with Treasurer
    • Approve expenses
    • Review and approve annual budget
  • Coordinate with STC National – transition leaders
    • Email STC Director of Community relations with name and email address of new President & Treasurer (the two required offices on a chapter admin council) 
  • Coordinate with other groups/educational institutions
    • TIP: To know other STC community leaders, participate in CAC (Community Affairs Committee) functions, attend STC Summit, and attend other community events
    • As of 2023, we have an informal partnership with the North Texas Lone Star Chapter. We will help promote each others’ events and as appropriate, co-host some events
  • Preside at Admin Council and chapter meetings.
  • Lead the other elected officers and committee managers.
  • Monitor the chapter’s projects to keep them on schedule.
  • Support officers and directors and and enable them to do their assigned functions.
  • Generate a monthly membership report from the Community Reports on stc.org. This report lists new and transferred members and changes of addresses. Use this information to pass to the Member Coordinator.

    • Conducting meetings and other virtual events, including admin council meetings, virtual chapter webinars, workshops, and miniconference.
  • MailChimp (optional)
    • Sending communications via email to members and friends of the chapter. Communications include: chapter news and upcoming chapter events.
