It’s hard to believe, but it is true. STC Houston is 50 years old this month!
There have been 50 great years of technical communications professionals coming together to learn, network, and improve our field, so the Administrative Council thought this would be an ideal time to reach out to old friends and new for a 50-year anniversary celebration and reunion like no other!
Do you remember an old STC friend with whom you have lost touch?
Was there a former chapter leader who inspired and mentored you, who you have always wanted to thank?
Have you wanted to check out STC Houston, but haven’t had the chance yet?
Are you a regular attendee who hasn’t been able to catch up with us this program season?
Well, November is a “don’t-miss” kind of month with STC Houston! Invite your work colleagues, former STC friends, technical communication students, and mentors to join us at one of our anniversary events this month and make valuable connections!
November is jam-packed with great STC Houston events! In addition to our networking lunches around town listed on our calendar, here are three great events you won’t want to miss:
- Esteemed STC Houston alumnae and STC Fellow, Linda Oestreich, shares her knowledge at our http://www.stc-houston.org/leadershipworkshop Leadership Workshop on Saturday, November 10th from 9 to 11:30 a.m.
- Later that evening (Nov 10th), we plan to toast the big 5-0 in style with our http://www.stc-houston.org/50thanniversaryparty 50thAnniversary Celebration at Carmelo’s Ristorante Italiano from 6 until 9 p.m.
- Learn about Editing as Linda Oestreich presents at our http://www.stc-houston.org/programs monthly program meeting on Tuesday, November 13 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the American Red Cross. Program meetings feature networking time and an informative program. Members often cap off the evening by going to dinner afterwards to continue the discussion.
Be sure to click the links above for details and to register for these events. An RSVP is required for leadership workshop and dinner, but not for meeting.
If you were considering getting to a few events this season or you want to check us out for the first time, November is definitely the month to attend and to invite friends to join you! Hope to see you soon!
