Share Your Knowledge and Experience with Your Peers!
by Paul Mueller, STC Director
STC is currently accepting proposals for the 2008 Technical Communication Summit. Presenting at the summit is a wonderful way to increase your visibility and share your knowledge with your peers. This year, STC is raising the bar and is closely reviewing proposals to find the best and brightest cutting-edge topics.
If you are thinking of submitting a proposal, keep the following tips in mind:
STC is looking for
- Experienced presenters. If you are less experienced, put together a panel discussion with two other speakers who have more experience.
- New and exciting topics. If you have presented a topic before, find a new angle on that topic or area of expertise.
- Variety. Avoid topics presented by other speakers; bring new expertise to share.
- High-quality presentations. Provide quality handout examples and session plans with your proposal. Your preparation now will make both your proposal and your final presentation better.
I hope that these tips help, and I’m looking forward to a strong Houston presence at the 2008 summit.
