
George Slaughter is serving on the STC Houston Admin Council for 2014-2015.
George Slaughter is a senior technical writer at Shea Writing and Training Solutions. He has over 23 years of experience in technical writing.
Within STC Houston, George serves both as a director and chapter historian. He served as chapter Houston president from 2001-03. On the international level, George served on the STC Summit Program Committee and as public relations competition manager. His writing has appeared in the Dateline Houston chapter newsletter, Intercom magazine, and the Technical Communication journal. He received the STC Houston Distinguished Chapter Service Award in 2005.
A noted historian, George’s book Spring Branch (Arcadia Publishing, 2011) remains a popular seller both online and at local bookstores. He also has written for the Handbook of Texas Online and the Southwestern Historical Quarterly, both through the Texas State Historical Association.
George has a B.A. from Stephen F. Austin State University, an A.A.S. from Fox Valley Technical College, and a M.A. from Texas Tech University.
George and his wife, Kathy, have a dog, Maggie, a miniature pinscher who keeps things lively.
