Dateline Houston would like to introduce the STC Houston Director, Erika Guerra.
Erika Guerra is a technical editor and writer in the energy industry. She has seven years of experience editing scientific and technical papers and articles for trade journals and conferences as well as writing and editing technical manuals, newsletters, press releases, and other communications for energy giants Baker Hughes Incorporated, Siemens, and currently, Transocean Offshore Deepwater Drilling. In late 2010, Erika edited the textbook manuscript for Jürgen H. Schön, Ph.D., Physical Properties of Rocks: A Workbook, Volume 8 of the Handbook of Petroleum Exploration and Production series, published by the leading scientific and health information publishing house Elsevier in August 2011.
She is an active member of the STC, through which she hosts a regular networking event for technical communicators. She received the STC Houston chapter’s 2010-2011 Person of the Year Award for her contributions as a member and volunteer.
Erika holds a bachelor of arts degree in English from Texas A&M University. She lives in Houston with her husband Carlos Ramon and their two kittens, Barnes and Noble Ramon.
